Inspiration Thursday: #ProudToBe and the Glam Mukbang

Inspiration Thursday

Whenever I get to Thursday, I just feel like I need some extra inspiration to get me to Friday. This is what is getting me through today!

I’m a huge fan of the Philip DeFranco show and I feel like we have similar political leanings (though I probably don’t agree with him on everything) but this video he did defending the Youtube #ProudToBe video was pretty great. Specifically the segment from the beginning to 3:10, he talks about why it shouldn’t matter to you how or who people identify with regarding their sexuality and their gender. And I totally agree!

And now for something totally silly! Mukbang (“muhk-bahng”) is basically watching people eat as they talk to the camera or interact with a streaming audience. I don’t really know how I feel about them (I’m curious about them, not a fan but not totally weirded out) so I searched for mukbang videos on YouTube and I found this lovely lady! She’s pretty funny and I’ve never seen anyone eat so much sauce with their pizza before. She’s adorable and I loved this video a lot! I still haven’t seen a lot of other mukbang videos, but I really liked hers so I hope they’re all like this!

Inspiration Thursday: Love is Love, and How to Deal with Work Anxiety

Inspiration Thursday

Whenever I get to Thursday, I just feel like I need some extra inspiration to get me to Friday. This is what is getting me through today!

So I didn’t talk about it because I didn’t have anything to add to it, and honestly, I don’t know if I could’ve said anything cohesive, besides how sad I was but the Orlando shooting on Sunday was a terrible tragedy and the whole thing is just so, so horrific.

So I watched this video after hearing about it from one of my friends, and this is Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony acceptance speech for best score, and his message against hate was so, so amazing. His speech starts at 1:46.

Now, after you’re done crying about that, here’s a good video about how to bring your anxiety down at work. A lot of my friends are going through something stressful at work and I assume a lot of you are too. So watch this video for some tips!

Inspiration Thursday: Motivation, Travel and Art

Inspiration Thursday

Whenever I get to Thursday, I just feel like I need some extra inspiration to get me to Friday. This is what is getting me through today!

So the first thing is this humor channel that I’m obsessed with right now called People Be Like hosted by William Haynes. He does really funny news or whatever he wants. I really liked this recent video about motivation!

This next one is a travel vlog! I absolutely love vlogs right now and I really liked this one done by the popular food website Tastemade. Bora Bora looks amazing!

This last one is about dip pens, which I am still practicing! It’s so hard, but watching videos like this make me really excited about using and trying different techniques and nibs.

Inspiration Thursday: Watercolor and Being Nice To Each Other

Some more watercolors today! I watched this over the weekend with my mom because we were playing with watercolors! It was super fun, and this guy is a really good instructor.

And here’s a watercolor painting by a woman named Teresa Ascone I found on Pinterest. This is what I’d like to be able to do in the end!

Next is a famous bullet-journal-er named Kara (of Boho Berry) and she voiced my opinion pretty well when it came to bullet journalling. Recently, on the Facebook Bullet Journal groups, there’s been some pretty mean activity about what the correct way of bujo-ing, and I’m thinking of leaving because of the drama. But in this video, Kara addresses the drama by saying there’s no correct way of doing it, that you should do what you like and not let anyone tell you what’s wrong and what’s right.

What I like best about this talk, though, is that it mirrors how I feel about life in general. I don’t like people telling me how to live my life, how or what to post about on my blog, even what shows to watch. I want to figure it out myself. I’ll get there eventually!

I hope these have helped you get through the afternoon. What is inspiring you today?

Inspiration Thursday: Self-Confidence and Awesome Art

Inspiration Thursday

Whenever I get to Thursday, I just feel like I need some extra inspiration to get me to Friday. This is what is getting me through today!

I watched all these today after a long day at work and they really helped me pick my mood up a little.

This first video is from Cydnee Black again, this time with a recent video. In this video, she talks about how to prepare yourself to build your self-confidence with tips like affirmations (even though she admits she thought it wS dumb at first). I just really love how genuine and sweet she seems; definitely not someone who I would think needed a boost in self-confidence, but then again, don’t we all from time to time?

Now for some art for you! I’ve been really trying hard at my hand letting, and I recently researched this video that I stumbled on a couple months ago (and I loved it so much, I subscribed to it right away). He goes through the creative process behind his thoughts, and the ease of his hand is just stunning to watch. I hope I get this good one day!

And finally, and extra video. I stumbled across this video on reddit and had to share. This guy does amazing photorealistic coloured pencils drawings, and he just shared this one of Walter White. Being someone who couldn’t make an orange look real, I really admire artists like this guy, and Chuck Close (whose exhibits I saw on display at MOMA in NYC). Simply awe-inspiring art.
